ClearSilk®
is Perfect For…
- Persistent Redness & Flushing
If your skin frequently looks red, flushed or uneven, ClearSilk can gently target vascular redness while improving the overall appearance of the complexion. - Rosacea-Prone Skin
For appropriate patients, ClearSilk may help reduce visible redness and flushing associated with rosacea without aggressive resurfacing or significant downtime. - Uneven Skin Tone & Texture
ClearSilk gently heats the skin to support a smoother, more even-looking complexion, making it a useful option when redness occurs alongside textural irregularities or reduced skin quality. - No-Downtime Skin Maintenance
Because treatment is gentle and non-ablative, ClearSilk can be incorporated into an ongoing skin maintenance plan for patients who want progressive improvement without disrupting their normal routine.
Treatment Length
A ClearSilk appointment typically takes approximately 30 minutes, although treatment time can vary according to the size and number of areas being addressed.
Treatment Frequency
ClearSilk is commonly performed as a series of treatments. At REAL, we recommend 3 – 4 treatments for correction, followed by maintenance treatments every 3 – 6 months.
Treatment Results
Skin may look brighter and more refreshed following treatment, while improvements in redness, tone and overall skin quality typically develop progressively with a series of sessions. Because ClearSilk works without aggressive resurfacing, results are designed to build naturally over time.
Treatment Recovery
ClearSilk requires little to no downtime. The skin may look mildly pink immediately after treatment, but this typically settles quickly. Most patients can return to their usual activities straight away, making ClearSilk particularly suitable for those who want skin improvement without a significant recovery period.
What is
ClearSilk®?
ClearSilk is a gentle, non-ablative 1064 nm Nd laser treatment by Sciton designed to improve visible redness and support overall skin quality without removing or resurfacing the outer layers of the skin.
Rather than creating controlled injury at the surface, ClearSilk delivers laser energy into the skin while the handpiece is continuously moved across the treatment area. This creates controlled heating within the tissue while maintaining a comfortable treatment experience.
ClearSilk can be particularly useful when diffuse redness, flushing and visible vascular changes are making the complexion appear uneven. It can also support improvements in the appearance of skin texture and overall skin quality through controlled dermal heating.
Because the treatment is gentle and requires little to no downtime, it can be considered for patients who are not looking for aggressive resurfacing or a lengthy recovery period. It may also form part of an ongoing treatment plan where progressive skin maintenance is the goal.
At REAL Aesthetics + Wellness, we assess what is actually contributing to the redness or unevenness you see before recommending treatment. ClearSilk is then customized according to your skin and the concerns we are looking to improve.
HOW ClearSilk® WORKS
Gentle, Non-Ablative 1064 nm Energy
ClearSilk uses a 1064 nm Nd laser to gently deliver energy into the skin without ablating or removing its surface.

Controlled Dermal Heating
During treatment, the handpiece is moved continuously across the skin while controlled laser energy gradually raises the temperature of the targeted tissue. This controlled heating can address vascular redness while creating a thermal response within the dermis.
By gently heating the deeper layers of the skin, ClearSilk can also support collagen remodeling over time. This makes it useful when the goal extends beyond redness to include smoother texture and an overall improvement in the appearance and quality of the skin.

Little to No Downtime
Because treatment is performed using a gradual heating technique rather than aggressive resurfacing, there is typically little to no downtime. Patients often describe the sensation as warm and comfortable.
Your treatment settings and the number of passes performed are customized according to your skin, treatment area and goals, allowing ClearSilk to provide progressive improvement without unnecessarily aggressive treatment.

This Treatment is
Great For…
Persistent Redness & Flushing
Redness can make otherwise healthy skin appear irritated, uneven or persistently flushed. For some patients, it is diffuse rather than being caused by one clearly visible vessel.
ClearSilk gently delivers laser energy into the skin to target vascular redness and help create a calmer, more even-looking complexion over a series of treatments.
Rosacea-Associated Redness
Rosacea can present with persistent redness, flushing, visible vessels and other changes that vary considerably from one patient to another.
For appropriate patients, ClearSilk may be used to improve visible redness and flushing associated with rosacea. It does not eliminate the underlying condition or its triggers, but it can form part of a personalized strategy for managing its visible vascular features.
Uneven Tone & Skin Quality
Sometimes the concern is not one isolated vessel or patch of redness. The complexion simply looks uneven, tired or less refined than it once did.
ClearSilk combines vascular targeting with controlled dermal heating, making it particularly useful when we want to improve the overall appearance of the skin rather than focus exclusively on one individual vessel.
Progressive Skin Rejuvenation
Not every patient needs or wants an intensive resurfacing treatment.
ClearSilk provides a gentler approach for patients looking to maintain healthier-looking skin with minimal interruption to everyday life. A series of treatments can be incorporated into a longer-term skin plan to support a clearer, smoother and more refreshed-looking complexion.
What to Expect at
REAL Aesthetics
Step 1: Comprehensive Consultation
Your ClearSilk treatment begins with an assessment of your skin, redness and overall concerns.
We consider whether you are experiencing diffuse redness, flushing, visible vascular changes, uneven tone or a combination of concerns. Your medical history, previous treatments, skin type and aesthetic goals are also reviewed before we recommend treatment.
This allows us to determine whether ClearSilk is the most appropriate option or whether another technology would better address what we see in your skin.

Step 2: Individualized Pre-Care
ClearSilk generally requires minimal preparation, but we will provide instructions appropriate for your skin before treatment.
You may be advised to avoid certain products or excessive sun exposure and to arrive with clean skin free from makeup and topical products. Any additional preparation relevant to you will be discussed in advance.
Our goal is to make sure your skin is appropriately prepared and that you understand exactly what to expect before your appointment.

Step 3: Precision Treatment
During treatment, protective eyewear is provided and the ClearSilk handpiece is moved continuously across the skin as laser energy is delivered.
Rather than feeling like a series of intense individual laser pulses, ClearSilk gradually warms the treatment area. Most patients describe the sensation as comfortable heat.
We monitor the skin throughout the procedure and customize treatment according to your skin, the area being addressed and your goals. This controlled approach allows us to create the desired thermal response without ablating the surface of the skin.

Step 4: Recovery & Support
One of the advantages of ClearSilk is its minimal recovery period.
Your skin may look mildly pink or feel warm immediately following treatment, but this usually settles quickly. Because the surface of the skin has not been aggressively resurfaced, most patients can return to their usual activities straight away.
We will provide appropriate post-treatment guidance, including advice on skincare and sun protection, to help support your skin following treatment.

Step 5: Maintenance & Refinement
ClearSilk results are typically progressive, which means a series of treatments may be recommended rather than expecting one session to address every concern.
We assess how your redness, tone and skin quality respond and adjust your treatment plan where necessary. Once your initial treatment plan is complete, periodic maintenance sessions may be appropriate depending on your skin and goals.
If other concerns such as more defined vessels, pigmentation or deeper textural changes are also present, we can consider whether complementary treatments should form part of your longer-term plan.

WHAT'S INCLUDED?
Holistic Aesthetic Assessment
Redness is not always caused by one thing.
We assess your complexion as a whole, considering visible vascular changes, diffuse redness, pigmentation, texture and overall skin quality alongside your medical history and goals. This helps us determine whether ClearSilk is the right treatment and how it should fit into your wider skin plan.
Expert-Level Technique
ClearSilk is a gentle treatment, but achieving an appropriate response still requires careful control of the laser energy and tissue temperature.
Our providers customize treatment according to your skin and concerns, monitoring the tissue response throughout the procedure to deliver controlled, consistent heating while prioritizing comfort and safety.
Optional Add-On Therapies
ClearSilk can work particularly well as part of a broader skin strategy when more than one concern is present.
For example, patients with diffuse redness may also have individual visible vessels, pigmentation, sun damage or textural changes that require a different approach. Where appropriate, we can incorporate complementary treatments into a personalized plan rather than expecting one technology to address everything.
HAVE QUESTIONS?
WE HAVE THE ANSWERS!
Is ClearSilk® safe?
ClearSilk is a non-ablative laser treatment designed to gently heat the skin without removing its surface.
As with any laser procedure, appropriate patient selection and customized settings are important. We assess your skin, medical history and concerns before treatment to determine whether ClearSilk is suitable for you.
Is ClearSilk® painful?
ClearSilk is generally considered a comfortable laser treatment. The handpiece is moved continuously across the treatment area, creating a gradual warming sensation rather than aggressively resurfacing the skin.
Most patients describe the treatment as warm but tolerable, and there is typically no need for significant numbing or anesthesia.
How many ClearSilk® treatments will I need?
ClearSilk is usually performed as a series because improvements in redness and overall skin quality build progressively.
The number of sessions we recommend will depend on your starting point, the concerns being addressed and how your skin responds. Maintenance treatments may also be appropriate once the initial series is complete.
How quickly will I see results?
Your skin may look brighter and more refreshed shortly after treatment, but ClearSilk is designed to create progressive improvement.
Changes in redness, tone and overall skin quality can develop over a series of treatments, with collagen-related improvements continuing gradually as the skin responds.
Can ClearSilk® treat rosacea?
ClearSilk may be appropriate for reducing visible redness and flushing associated with rosacea.
However, rosacea is a chronic condition with different symptoms and triggers. Laser treatment does not eliminate the underlying tendency to develop rosacea, so we assess your individual presentation before deciding whether ClearSilk should form part of your treatment plan.
Can ClearSilk® be used anywhere other than the face?
ClearSilk can be used on appropriate areas beyond the face, depending on the concern being treated.
During your consultation, we will assess the area you would like to improve and determine whether ClearSilk is the most appropriate technology for your skin and goals.
Is there downtime after ClearSilk®?
ClearSilk is designed to require little to no downtime.
You may experience temporary warmth or mild pinkness immediately after treatment, but this typically settles quickly. Most patients can return to work, social activities and their normal routine straight away.
What’s the difference between ClearSilk® and ClearV®?
Although both use laser technology and can address vascular concerns, they are designed for different treatment goals.
ClearSilk is a gentle, non-ablative treatment particularly suited to diffuse redness, flushing and overall skin rejuvenation. ClearV is a more targeted vascular treatment used when distinct visible or subsurface vessels are the primary concern.
For some patients, one treatment will clearly be more appropriate. For others, both technologies may have a role at different stages of a personalized treatment plan.
