Pre-care
Avoid Blood Thinners
Stop taking aspirin, NSAIDs (Advil, Ibuprofen, Aleve), fish oil, and vitamin E 5 days before treatment to minimize bruising. Consult your doctor if these are medically necessary.
Avoid Alcohol for 24 Hours
Alcohol increases the risk of bruising and swelling.
Cold Sore Prevention
If prone to cold sores, let your provider know, so they can coordinate antiviral medication, if needed.
Hydrate & Nourish Your Skin
Well-hydrated skin enhances results and supports healing.
Plan for Possible Swelling & Bruising
While swelling typically lasts a few days to a week, schedule your treatment at least 2 weeks before any major event to allow full healing. Complimentary bruise reduction treatment is available upon request.
No Dental Work
Avoid dental procedures for 2 weeks before and after treatment to reduce infection risk.
Post-care
Days 1 to 3
Mild Swelling & Bruising Are Normal
Apply cool compresses to minimize swelling.
Avoid Touching or Massaging the Area
Unless instructed by your provider, let the filler settle naturally.
No Makeup for 24 Hours
Give the skin time to heal and reduce the risk of infection.
Hydrate, Avoid Alcohol and NSAIDs
Drink plenty of water to support healing and skip alcohol for 24 hours. Avoid blood thinners like NSAIDs (aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.).
Days 4 to 14
Swelling & Bruising May Persist
Arnica supplements, or gel may help speed up healing.
Continue to Avoid Blood Thinners and NSAIDs
This reduces the risk of lingering bruising.
Gentle Skincare Only
Avoid exfoliating treatments, retinol, or active skincare for at least 7 days.
Avoid Facial Pressure
Avoid massage tables (facial pressure), face massages and facials for 2 weeks.
Ongoing Maintenance
Results Settle Over Time
Filler takes 6 weeks to fully integrate, while biostimulators take 3+ months to build collagen.
Schedule Maintenance Treatments
Regular treatments using small amounts of filler keep your results fresh and natural-looking.
