Restore Texture & Tone with
Microneedling
Microneedling
At REAL Aesthetic Medicine, microneedling is more than a surface treatment, it’s a regenerative technique that reactivates your skin’s natural repair processes.
Microneedling
is Perfect For…
- Improving fine lines, acne scars, and overall skin texture
- Reducing the appearance of enlarged pores and dull tone
- Stimulating natural collagen for firmer, smoother skin
- Creating a healthy skin barrier without thermal energy or downtime
Treatment Length
Typical sessions last 45–60 minutes, including time for numbing and post-treatment care. Additional time may be needed if add-ons such as exosomes or PRP are included.
Treatment Frequency
We recommend a series of 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Maintenance sessions every 3–4 months can help prolong your results and support healthy collagen turnover.
Treatment Results
Results begin within 5–7 days with skin looking more radiant and refined. Over the following 4–6 weeks, collagen production increases, delivering progressive firming and smoothing.
Treatment Recovery
Most patients experience light redness, tightness, and minimal flaking for 1–3 days. Makeup can typically be worn 24 hours post-treatment, and sun protection is essential during recovery.
What is
Microneedling?
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that uses ultra-fine, medical-grade needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the epidermis and superficial dermis. These microchannels trigger the body’s natural wound-healing response, initiating a cascade of regenerative activity, including fibroblast activation, growth factor release, and collagen synthesis.
At REAL, we use advanced microneedling technology with adjustable depth settings to ensure optimal precision and personalization. This allows us to tailor each treatment to your unique skin type and goals, from superficial glow-boosting to deeper scar remodeling.
How Microneedling Works
Precision Microchannels
Microneedling creates vertical channels in the skin that are precisely spaced and depth-controlled. These channels act as a signal to the body to begin healing, without removing the surface layer of skin. This technique preserves the epidermis while stimulating deeper tissue regeneration.30 minutes can now be treated in under 10, with consistent coverage and uniform results.

Collagen + Elastin Stimulation
Once the skin recognizes these micro-injuries, fibroblasts respond by producing new collagen and elastin, restoring structure, volume, and firmness over time. This natural rebuild is what gives microneedling its ability to refine wrinkles, scars, and laxity.

Growth Factor Activation
The microtrauma created also stimulates the release of cytokines and growth factors, molecules that accelerate healing, repair damaged skin, and increase cellular turnover. This enhances the skin’s resilience, hydration, and glow.

Enhanced Absorption of Actives
Post-microneedling, the skin is more permeable, allowing for the enhanced penetration of targeted serums. At REAL, we often pair microneedling with regenerative actives such as hyaluronic acid, exosomes, or PRP to amplify results.

This Treatment is
Great For…
Whether you’re rebuilding from acne scarring, softening fine lines, or proactively supporting your skin’s structure, microneedling is a foundational step in your long-term plan.
Acne Scars & Texture Irregularities
Microneedling is clinically proven to reduce the depth and visibility of atrophic acne scars by stimulating dermal remodeling. It smooths uneven texture without heat or downtime.
Fine Lines & Early Laxity
By jumpstarting collagen and elastin, microneedling gradually tightens fine creases around the mouth, eyes, and neck, particularly helpful for softening dynamic expression lines.
Enlarged Pores & Oil Regulation
Through increased turnover and collagen support, pores appear tighter and less visible. The treatment also helps balance sebum production for a more refined surface.
Dullness & Overall Glow
As dead cells are sloughed and new tissue emerges, skin appears clearer, brighter, and more luminous, making microneedling an excellent glow-up treatment before events.
What to Expect at
REAL Aesthetics
Step 1: Comprehensive Consultation
We begin with an in-depth skin assessment to identify your concerns, treatment history, and goals. Whether your focus is scarring, elasticity, or early prevention, we determine if microneedling is the right modality, or whether a laser, peel, or RF enhancement may be better suited.

Step 2: Individualized Pre-Care
To prep for treatment, we’ll guide you through skincare adjustments (pausing exfoliants or retinoids) and emphasize hydration and sun protection. If you’re adding PRP or exosomes, we may also offer pre-treatment recommendations to enhance results.

Step 3: Precision Treatment
Your skin is cleansed and numbed before treatment begins. The microneedling device is passed methodically across the skin, adjusting depth in different zones. We may follow with regenerative serums or your own PRP. Most patients feel only mild pressure or prickling.

Step 4: Recovery & Support
After treatment, the skin may be pink and feel warm or tight for 1–3 days. You’ll be given recovery instructions, including a minimalist skincare routine and a focus on barrier repair. Peeling or flaking is typically mild and resolves quickly.

Step 5: Maintenance & Refinement
Because collagen production takes time, we schedule follow-up treatments to build on your results. Many patients opt for seasonal sessions to maintain firmness and clarity, often pairing microneedling with facials or laser therapies.

WHAT'S INCLUDED?
Holistic Aesthetic Assessment
Each microneedling plan is created with a full understanding of your skin’s age, genetics, lifestyle, and history. We don’t treat skin issues, we treat people, thoughtfully and thoroughly.
Expert-Level Technique
We use only advanced microneedling pens approved for medical use, with sterile cartridges and clinical-grade protocols. Our technique emphasizes precision and balance, avoiding overtreatment while maximizing regenerative benefit.
Optional Add-On Therapies
For patients seeking enhanced outcomes, microneedling may be paired with PRP, exosomes, or stem-cell-derived growth factors. These add-ons accelerate healing and optimize long-term transformation, especially for scar or anti-aging protocols.
HAVE QUESTIONS?
WE HAVE THE ANSWERS!
Is microneedling painful?
Discomfort is minimal. We apply a topical anesthetic prior to treatment, and most patients describe the sensation as light pressure or scratching. Any residual warmth or tightness resolves within hours.
How many treatments will I need?
This depends on your goals. For glow and maintenance, 2–3 sessions may suffice. For acne scarring or deeper textural issues, a series of 4–6 treatments is typically recommended.
Is microneedling safe for darker skin tones?
Yes. Unlike many laser procedures, microneedling is color-blind, it doesn’t rely on pigment to function, making it safe for all skin types and tones when performed by trained providers.
Will I peel or flake after treatment?
You may notice slight flaking or dryness for a few days, but there’s no dramatic peeling. Most patients resume work and social activities within 24 hours with proper aftercare.
Can I wear makeup the next day?
In most cases, yes. We typically recommend waiting at least 24 hours to allow the microchannels to close and reduce risk of irritation or infection. Mineral-based makeup is best post-treatment.
What’s the difference between microneedling and RF microneedling?
Traditional microneedling uses mechanical stimulation to induce collagen. RF microneedling adds heat energy for deeper tightening and is better suited for moderate to advanced laxity. We can help determine which is right for your goals.
Can Microneedling treat skin texture and hair loss?
Microneedling is highly effective for improving skin texture, helping you achieve smoother, healthier, and more radiant skin. By stimulating collagen, it promotes firmer, younger-looking skin while softening fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and even stretch marks. It also enhances overall tone and texture and minimizes pores for a more refined, flawless finish. If you’re looking to unlock your skin’s natural glow, microneedling is a true game-changer.
